Selection method for Basalt Crushing and Screening Plant

Selection method for Basalt Crushing and Screening Plant

When choosing a stone crushing and screening plant,

it is necessary to choose according to the stone type to be crushed. Because they are basically similar in working principle, the equipment used varies accordingly as well.
Basalt is a very hard, abrasive volcanic rock, and this feature is generally seen in different types of basalts that come out of mine deposits in many parts of the world. This means the stone crushing and screening equipment we will choose must be resistant to hard and abrasive basalt.
First of all, let's list the main machines that should be in a standard facility, respectively; vibrating feeder, primary stage crusher, vibrating screen, and adaptable equipment; secondary crushers, tertiary crushers, and stock hoppers. In addition, flexible conveyor belt systems and a control panel system.

In this article, we will choose the leading equipment for basalt crushing and screening and explain why we chose this equipment.

If you're ready, let's start:

Vibrating feeder is used as standard in all crushing and screening plants. Because it is designed to take the raw materials to be broken, which is fed in the facility by truck, bucket, or loader, although there are models with different extra features, the general working principle is as follows, the raw materials fed by the construction machines are transported to the feeding table in the middle with the slope on the armored side walls. From there, it feeds the primary stone-crushing machine with vibrations made by vibro-motors, which are connected from below.
Since we will be feeding with basalt in this facility, the vibrating feeder to be selected should have a bypass unit that can transmit the coarse basalt rocks to the crusher without eroding its body, and also separate the coarse soil adhered to the basalt.
A vibrating rock-feeding hopper will be the appropriate choice for these works.
Our next choice is primary stone crushing, the first of the crusher options accepted by all stone crushing and screening authorities is a jaw crusher and the second is a cone crusher.

Jaw Crushers are the most widely used stone crushing machines in which two armored plates, fixed and movable one, are crushing by squeezing and crushing them by means of eccentric movements of the moving plate to the fed material.
The main reasons, for the use of jaw crushers, is that they are suitable for use in all stone types, their capacity is high, their operation and maintenance costs are low, and they can be used in the secondary stage as well.

Cone Crushers are high-end stone-crushing machines made of many parts. The unique crushing ability of the movable conical head called the mantle, and the eccentric opening and closing movement of the fixed head called the concave, compresses and crushes the mines and ores into the concave, and the material flow is carried out by natural gravity during these vertical operations.
Cone crushers are machines that can be used for all hard and abrasive mines and ores with high silica content, generally working in the secondary stage, sometimes used in the tertiary stage, with high initial investment cost, but low operating cost.
As you can see, two crushers are required to crush basalt.
The key point here is that it would be wise to choose a jaw crusher in the primary stage and a cone crusher in the secondary stage according to the size of the basalt to be fed as raw material, because the jaw, that is, the mouth opening of the jaw crushers, can be adjusted quite easily enough to take very large rock pieces, while in the cone crushers, the mouth setting of the mantle cannot be opened as much as a jaw crusher.
Now that we have determined the stone crushing machines, which are the heart of the plant, for the basalt crushing and screening plant, let's continue with our next machine.

Although Vibrating Screens have different driving zones and floors according to their model, their main task is to ensure that the stones discharged to the main body, which is working on helical springs with horizontal vibrations, performed by vibro-motors mounted on the body, move towards the inclination direction of the screen. It is sieved between meshes and the floors connected to an outlet chute for each floor, and optionally transferred to the stock area, secondary crusher, tertiary crusher, or truck feeding bunker.
Since we are working on basalt, the sieve wires and discharge grooves in the sieves should be in a wear-resistant structure and armored with wear-resistant sheets.
In addition, the number of floors and type of the sieve to be selected according to the desired capacity, and the total number of vibrating sieves in the facility may also change.
We mentioned above that we would prefer a cone crusher in the secondary stage, then finally, let's give information about the selection and function of the basalt crusher in the tertiary stage.

When the term tertiary stage is mentioned, first of all, tertiary impact crushers' name is taken from its role at this stage. However, tertiary crushers are not preferred in the mentioned basalt due to excessive wear and spare parts costs.
Vertical shaft impact crushers are ideal stone crushing machines for crushing basalt in the secondary or tertiary stage and taking fine materials such as sand.
As the name suggests, it throws the stones poured into the stator on a vertical rotor at high speed into the armored pockets on the body, where it creates a natural stone armor on the pockets and completes the breaking process by hitting the stone against the stone.

We have come to the end of our blog post, where we provided superficial information about a standard basalt crushing, screening, and stocking facility.
It should be noted that the information we have given above is for promotional purposes about a hypothetical basalt crushing and screening plant.
In fact, in addition to the above process, we collect the necessary data at stages such as research - analysis - contract - plan - project, then proceed to the production - assembly stages and we are making the crushing and screening plant where you can crush basalt or other mineral or ore with our professional team.
